The restaurant is located in an old building that used to be a Jerusalem train station many years ago. Nowadays, the restaurant space is simply decorated with light-wooden tables and an interesting looking fireplace at the centre (especially lovely on cold winter evenings), giving Shmil a modern appeal. The menu is mostly of Mediterranean origin, but there are a few Eastern European influences that can be detected in the smoked fish dishes, the potato dumplings in sour cream and the salmon gravlax with Bellini (more to the north of Europe in this case). The regular menu is comprised of dishes that are divided into three separate categories: small, medium and large, giving the restaurant guests a wide freedom of choice in assembling their chosen meal. Fresh asparagus, salmon crepe and mushroom ravioli are only a few dishes from the selection at Shmil. In short: Please add you comments to this restaurant review for the benefit of fellow tourists. Thank you! Cost: $$$
