Focusing on Japanese cuisine, Sakura restaurant is a tranquil and very pleasant Jerusalem restaurant that offers tasty fresh sushi and other Japanese dishes

Opened by a chef who studied Japanese cooking for many years in Japan, Sakura is an unpretentious longstanding Japanese restaurant in Jerusalem that is a favorite with locals. The interiors are very simple and clean, with white and black dominating the design and Far Eastern minimalism setting the tone. On the menu you will find a selection of Japanese specialties, such as soba and ramen soups, alongside a nice though slightly limited variety of fresh sushi prepared and assembled according to Japanese tradition (i.e. you won’t find any Western additions that some Israeli restaurant add to rolls, such as cream cheese or yams).

The restaurant also offers a very nice business lunch, so if you feel like a midday sushi break while touring the center of Jerusalem, this is an excellent stop.
