Praised as the finest restaurant in Jerusalem, Arcadia is a unique place that offers original dishes which make use of some of the finest produce in Israel
Arcadia has received much praise from local and international food critics ever since it was opened in the charming little courtyard located between Jaffa and Agrippas Streets. However, it must be stated from the very start – some people have the meal of their life here while others simply can’t understand what all the fuss is about and why the prices are so high. Going out to dinner at Arcadia may be regarded as a bit risky, but some people swear by the food prepared by renowned chef Ezra Kedem and the mark he has left on the culinary scene in Israel is undisputed.
The restaurant’s décor is distinctively Jerusalemite and creates a uniquely elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere. The service at the restaurant is very professional, but the waiters sometimes are a little less informative than one could expect at a restaurant at this level. On the menu, the chef offers a varying choice of courses which make use of unique local herbs and regionally grown produce (the restaurant even has its very own vegetable and herb garden). Aubergine served with tahini (one of Kedem’s signature dishes) is a truly beautiful course, the sea food variations in the starter section are also very good and the veal brain served with sundried tomatoes is yet another winning dish. In the mains you will usually have a selection of fish and meat. For example, a fresh fillet of fish served in a butter and herb sauce and a slowly cooked cut of lamb served with root vegetables. The menu changes with the seasons and always includes light, tasty dishes that offer innovative variations on traditional cooking methods and tastes.
Arcadia restaurant boast an original Israeli kitchen, one which springs from in depth knowledge of the world’s cooking traditions and interprets them to suit the local climate and produce. The prices are indeed quite high, but it doesn’t get any more Israeli haute-cuisine than this.
In short: A unique restaurant in Jerusalem that offers visitors a real taste of Israel and serves up some truly ingenious, original dishes that make use of fresh local produce

However, it my recent visit I didn't enjoy the service or the food quite as much. Really hope they get back on track in Arcadia. Has always been one of Jerusalem's gems...
