Situated right at the entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem through the Jaffa Gate, just opposite the David Citadel Museum, Christ Church Guesthouse is an extremely pleasant and unassuming budget accommodation option
Featuring a leafy courtyard which hides behind the large metal door leading into Christ Church premises, this guesthouse offers all the basics any traveler could need. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff helpful. Rooms are surprisingly pleasant for this price range and have been decorated with an Arabian ethnic theme in mind. The building itself was built in 1830 and alongside the guesthouse you will find a research library and CMJ’s Alexander College.
The managers will give guests access to a secluded prayer garden on request and full board can be arranged, though there are plenty of restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. One thing that you should definitely keep in mind is that only married couples will be given a double room. So make sure you can prove your holy matrimony on demand.
In short: Friendly and accommodating lodgings that will give you a real sense of the Old City while ensuring you enjoy a bit of breathing space from the mayhem.
