Tucked away not far from the Eilat Airport, Eddie’s Hideaway is a longstanding and very popular restaurant that offers eclectic fare
Eddie’s Hideaway is indeed not easy to find as it is hidden in the back of a residential looking house, but once you find the place, you will encounter a vibrant though somewhat old-fashioned interior and an extremely long menu that offers a wide variety of dishes with an emphasis on fish and seafood. From goose liver in apple brandy, through baked mussels, onion soup, lasagna and parmesan shrimps to teriyaki fish, Dijon steak, veal marsala and schnitzel – everyone is bound to find their heart’s desire on this extravagant menu. The preparation methods lean towards the traditional and most people seem to be extremely satisfied with what they get. The prices are not cheap but the servings are generous and the general atmosphere very friendly.
Though the freshness of the ingredients may not be the restaurant’s forte (frozen and canned are not off limits here), it is still a very nice option for a dinner out in Eilat and is a favorite with many visitors and locals.
In short: An old-fashioned sort of restaurant in Eilat that offers an extremely wide selection of fairly well-prepared classic dishes in a nice environment.
