You can reach Eilat by car, bus or plane, all depending on the distance you need to fathom and amount you’re willing to spend

Car

It is very easy to rent a car and drive around Israel. The road signs are less than perfect and the Israeli drivers are infamous for being rude, impatient and reckless, but the distances are relatively short and the roads are generally good. The drive down to Eilat is about the longest in the country (Eilat being located at the southernmost point), but the scenery on the way is beautiful (whether you opt to travel via the Ramon Crater or the Dead Sea and the Arava) and the drive relatively relaxing.

Bus

The Central Bus Stations in the major cities (namely Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa) run buses down to Eilat several times each day. The ride from Jerusalem on bus should take about 4-5 hours (depending on the driver and the number of stops) and the drive from Tel Aviv 5-6 hours. The buses going to Eilat are very convenient and fully air-conditioned, of course. Tickets cost around NIS 120 for a return trip (NIS 65 one-way). Plane

Two local Israeli airline companies, Arkia and Israir, offer a number of flights from Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv Sdeh Dov Airport and Haifa Airport and to Eilat every day. The schedules are very convenient and the price of a return ticket is around NIS 400-600 (depending on time of day and availability).

Direct international flights to Eilat are also available via these two companies and other international airline companies during the summer vacation and holidays. The main connections are Paris, London and St. Petersburg, but there are also occasional flights to and from other destinations. Check the airline schedules to find out more about direct flights to Eilat and keep in mind that most international flights land in Ovda Airport, which is about 40 min from Eilat.
