Eilat is a very small and manageable city that allows for easy travel and offers convenient transportation
TaxisTaxis are probably the easiest way of getting around the small city of Eilat and the prices are relatively fair. The taxi drivers are very used to dealing with tourists and may sometimes try and get a bit of extra money out of the ride, so just make sure to insist upon the meter. Phone numbers for Eilat Taxis: BusThere are a couple of buses in Eilat that run along the coast and drive up into the residential area built on the slope overlooking the bay. Bus no.1goes from the Northern Beach and hotels located on the Northern Beach (Dan Hotel, Royal Beach Hotel, Harods Hotel and others) up to Eilat’s residential area and leaves about every 30 min. Bus no.15 goes from the center of Eilat to the Southern Beaches and the hotels located on the Southern Beach (Princess Hotel, Reef Hotel, Ambassador and others) and leaves about every hour. BicyclesThere are wide bicycle paths along the beach road that allow for very convenient and relatively safe riding. When the weather is right (i.e. when it’s not blazing hot) taking a bicycle can be a lovely experience. That is, as long as you don’t venture up into the mountains as the locals do, which makes it much more of a challenge.
