Not far from the Herods and Dan hotels stands Eilat's very own amusement complex, Kings City, an intriguing biblical amusement park

The theme of this one of a kind park is biblical history, or more specifically, the great kings of Israel. Alongside the standard fast food stands and a well-equipped video arcade, Kings City offers five main attractions.

1. The Cave of Illusions and Wisdom this attraction, which is a tribute to King Solomon's legendary wisdom, offers seventy different kinds of displays (optic illusions, mazes. etc.) and is perhaps the most appealing place to spend your time in Kings City.

2. King Solomon's Falls this ride will take you sailing through chapters in the life of King Solomon on a small boat. This tranquil and rather long excursion ends with a bit of excitement – a slide awaits you at the end of your journey!

3. The Bible Cave presents the children with scenes from the bible staged in the depths of artificial caves, and is a rather educational experience.

4. David's Winding Slides are just that - 60 feet high, transparent slides which whirl you down to the ground.

5. Journey to the Past is a four dimensional display that depicts the life of the pharaohs in Ancient Egypt.

The entrance tickets are not cheap (NIS118 per adult and NIS95 per child/senior citizen ticket), but you can spend a fair amount of time with the kids in the air-conditioned interiors of Kings City. One point of advice – the food available inside is less than marvelous, so either avoid is completely or keep it as simple as possible.

Besides all the amusements inside Kings City, there is now a small amusement park outside the biblical building, which offers a few nice rides for the kids.
